Introduction

ICYMI, I will be speaking (virtually) at the UKVMUG on 25th November 2021. I’ll be talking about my one of my favourite topics (no not myself), Certifications!

In addition to my day job at VMware and the working with the HOL Team, I have spent the last 18 months was an Education SME for the VMware Education Team. It has been very rewarding but hardwork. During this time I have contributed to 13 different exams (at various levels) across the VMware SDDC technology domain. Chances are if you are taking a VMware exam this year, my name maybe on the blueprint. Add that to the 30+ exams I have taken since I started my career 20 years ago and I think it is safe to say I know a little bit about taking exams.

What Will You Cover?

I delivered a similar session about the Cloud Management & Automation VCAP exams at our annual partner event EMPOWER 2021 with my colleague Michael Poore but this has updated deck has a much broader scope.

Even though I have written the majority of the deck, like normal I will probably be tweaking it until 30s before the event! But my plan is to cover:

  • Why:
    • The benefits of Certification.
  • What:
    • The different VMware Certification Tracks.
    • The different levels of Certifications.
    • What to do if you pass or fail.
  • How:
    • To prepare for taking an Exam
  • When:
    • When is the right time to start your certification journey

Whether you’re new to exam taking or new to exams there will be something for you and maybe what you pickup will help you in your Certification journey. If nothing else there is a chance to come and ask me questions and heckle me!

See You There (Virtually)

Come and join the fun on Thursday 25th November 2021 either virtually or in person at the UKVMUG! Register here . My session is at 13:15 - 14:00, but there are so many great presenters on the day incuding Joe Baguley, Ed Hoppit and Frank Dennerman.

Do yourself a favour, take my advice, book the whole day out and spend some time on yourself and with your VMware Community!
